Originally from London, after an entire childhood of trying to sound French, I ended up finding my very own Frenchman and moving to Toulouse in 2000 to live with Jérôme. We have 4 children, and each of them has a perfect French accent without even trying (I still do not!). My parents bought La Rivière in 2004 as a base to spend time with their grandchildren, and since then it has been a hub of get-togethers for family and friends, where my brother, sister and I have been able to get our children together for family holidays, and Jérôme has made it his mission to introduce all English guests to the joys of The Apéro including correctly sliced saucisson, followed by barbecue-grilled magret de canard (much better than beans on toast).

 

Since my Dad passed away in 2015, I have taken over looking after La Rivière. Our family, friends and ourselves love this house very much. It's in such a beautiful, peaceful setting, and my parents, when renovating the property, created lovely spaces inside and out where you can enjoy each other's company without ever being on top of each other. I love being able to offer this family home away from home to other groups of families and friends to create their own memories together in this special place.  

 

After many years of feeling like we needed a removal van just to go on a weekend away with our 4 kids, I have made sure to have as much as possible onsite so families can have a stress-free packing experience and just worry about which clothes they want to bring. Everything you should need for your little ones - high chairs, cots, plastic cups, stools to reach the sinks, toys etc. is here for you at the house already, and cooking for groups won't be a problem as we have equipped the kitchen accordingly with everything you should need. One of my pet hates when looking for places to stay is uncomfortable seating (and usually not enough of it) so there are plenty of comfy sofas here, and enough to go round! We have made sure that all the beds are comfy too so that you really can feel at home.

 

We have been exploring the Haute-Garonne and the Gers for quite a while now, so I can suggest lots of activities, restaurants & day-trips suitable for your group. I'm not far away, and always glad to help you organise your stay here, as groups who go home happy make me happy!
